Incident Response.
Does your organization have an incident response plan? If not, we can create one. If it does we can augment and assist. Nextwave Information Security Solutions is part of several company's Incident Response Plans
Testing your Incident Response Plans:
An untested disaster recovery plan or incident response plan is almost as bad as not having one. There should be a representative from each area: Corporate Security, Legal and Privacy, End-users, Business Units, Help Desk, Desktop Support and IT Infrastructure. Review the prevention tools, review the proactive tools, review the IR or DR plans. You should stage a mock event and then monitor the gaps and remediate.
Good Intentions, Bad for the Organization
Do not Touch that Machine- Computers contain a plethora of information we refer to digital fingerprints. We use special equipment to extract deleted, hidden, system level information. We maintain a strict, repeatable procedure that holds up in court. The good intentions of the IT group or other employees do more harm than good. Because of the untrained individual altering the state of potential evidence, your evidence could stand to lose a solid foundation on which to remediate or build a case.
